Vintage Zildjians need dating - 20" ride

Loading...

Here is the first of the 20" rides - this one weighs 1,870 grams. UInfortunately, the stamp has worn away over the years. I believe that it had 3 dots in the U when it was new.

It appears to be late 50s to me. If it really did have the 3 dots, it would be early 60s, but I'm thinking late 50s.

Drumaholic could probably give a more definite answer than I can.

I'm no guru, just a vintage drum junkie!

I'd guess a 70's thin stamp

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

Slingerlynn is right. Its late 50's. If it was early 1970's the hammering wouldn't be on the bottom like it is here.

Thanks everyone for the feedback on this cymbal and the others I was hoping you could provide dating details on. I suspected early 60's for the 15" hats but had no idea when it came to the 14" hats or the other 20" ride. Thanks again
