Hi Phil.my mate has bought it .. when it arrives i will have a look at it..i quite like it myself so may end up buying it off him ! what are the holes for?haven't seen those lugs before..look very late 50's and interesting! ...think he got a bargain..only paid £25 !http://ukdrums.weebly.com/beverley-1905-79.html any idea what one?
Dave; If you scroll down the p-age on the above link, you will come to a picture on the right side of a 1940's Beverley double floor tom kit. Those are the lugs that are on your drum and although the picture is low-res tou can still clearly see the long ,narrow , black badge that they carried. Your drum could be that old or as young as the late 50's and if an early 60's drum ,then more of it would be Premier made.

Dave, I'm still not picture ready . As soon as I can, I'll get a pic out to you. They are an odd badge for their day----at least the one on my drum is. Black celluloid, I guess ,about 6 x 2 cm., with the typical sloping forward Beverley in block print. It's all black-----you can barely read the name----which is embossed. Maybe originally, the name was highlighted in white enamel or something but mine shows no sign of that. It's the only Beverley badge , I have ever seen like that. Can any one out there provide a pic for Dave?
Looks a lot like this one ...
No. That's a Premier made drum from the early 60's and the badge is a metal plate, I think. The badge in question from the Deans and Son's Beverleys is about 1/2 that width; really only the top part that says Beverley but I can barely see that the font of the word Beverley looks the same, though.

There might be 2 little tack holes about an inch apart, in the shell, just above the vent(?).
Hi Phil..the update is i have now bought the Beverley and removed the black fabulon to find a purple painted snare drum..the inside does have 2 white covered holes..see picture..what would these mean?Once you see the photos does it help anymore with the year?? all the lugs and tension screws have come up like new mate.. All i need to do now is re-wrap it and put this gorgeous snare back together again!! Was thinkin a red pearl??
Anyone else out there have any thoughts??
Excited

I Think its a German drum The tension screws look flat on top not rounded like Einglish makers use The huge lugs are over kill and Germans alway over design there hardware Can't see if there is any extra holes because of the cheap contact paper throw off could be a ad on This could be a German Frankenstein PLEASE keep us all posted -------------------------------------------- Zutty
