50s Avedis cymbals...hammering?

Loading...

Was the big Z doing hand hammering on the Avedis line in the 50s? Just curious. I found what looked to be a nice 50s ride. Owner said it actually has a nice dark wash about it, and it's somewhat thin.

Depends on your definition of "hand".

1) A person swinging a hammer by "hand".

2) A person "hand" positioning a cymbal under a hammering machine.

Never play it the same way once.

That's spoken like someone who's spent too much time over at Cymbalholic. They love to parse meanings and play semantics games like this over there. It's substitutes for any actual discussion of cymbals that really matters.

#1 is the term as its understood by an average logical drummer/person.

#2 is as its understood by about half of the memebers over there.

I picked up a few nice ones. Hey, it was good enough for Shelly Manne & Max Roach. Two studs.

So was I. Welcome to the club to the club of Cymbalholic rejects. Its a special honor to belong.

Too bad we don't have those G-A-Y little "thank you for this useful post" kudos over here like they do there. I certainly would have given you one.
