Small nickle split rivets

I'm looking for small light nickle split rivets which are often put on Istanbul K cymbals. I currently have Sabian, Bosphorus(Dia 9mm/1.4cm), and Zildjian rivets, but they are big. I don't know which ones are small & good although I googled.

Do you know good ones? I don't care if they are not cymbal makers.

I've used paper fasteners in the past.

You might want to buy a variety of rivets. Each cymbal is different, & one cannot know ahead of time which rivet will work best. I've found paper fasteners to be too light, too soft & too quiet. You'll find some rivets will be too heavy. You also need to consider the size of the rivet head, length & thickness of the stem, & the size of the holes in the cymbal. A variety of rivets will give you a chance to find the best one.

Thanks guys,

I want small head split rivets like Bosphorus used to make. Bosphorus currently makes only bigger head brass rivets as long as I am correct. Yeah, I try to get variety size rivets. Tomorrow, I drop by a DIY shop.

I read in a post here-----and I recall thinking that it seemed to be a reliable comment, that K. Zildjian never drilled cymbals, so if you have seen one then it must be an aftermarket modification.

The problem with some rivets, is they are much harder than the cymbal and they ream the holes out very quickly. I played those small headed rivets ,in the 60's----until they all fell out. It turns out, I needed larger headed rivets to replace them. Ever heard of keyholed rivet holes?

The only experience, I have with factory installed rivets, is an N.O.S. 60's A. Zildjian 16". It has brass rivets. I would assume, the idea was for the rivet to wear, not the cymbal.

OK.

I visited a local DIY store & Home Depot, but they didn't have rivets.

I've googled, while it's hard to find small head rivets. Hummm

Check with a local machine shop or sheet metal shop. If they don't use split rivets there might be a type of pop rivet that could be adapted to work.

A leather work shop could possibly utilize suitable rivets.
