Ludwig B/O Badges Gllued??

Loading...

I want to recover a couple of early 70's 3 ply toms with B/O badges. I've used the oversized drill bit method to remove the grommets, but it seems the badge itself is possibly glued down.?

How does one get the badge off without bending corners, etc.?

Also, what do people usually use to replace the wasted grommet? Just an appropriate eyelet?

Thanks all. Love the site.

Yes the Ludwig badge is glued down.To move the badge use a heat gun on the badge to make the glue loose and a putty knife to remove the badge. When you go to replace the badge use double sided tape on the badge.Check Ebay for new Ludwig type of grommets....Mikey

You can also use dental floss. Slide it under and work it from one side to the next.

I was wondering when that old floss would be put to use! Works great. Thanks.

I didn't try the heat gun method because I don't own one. I will most likely need it to remove the wrap now. What's the VDF endorsed gun to buy? Hopefully under $100.?

Thanks again.
