You should have used the 'Search' button before ;)

Anyway - thanks for the new link!

The only thing about these is ; I don't know why they are always called a "Trixon Copy". There is nothing about them that evokes Trixonness, with the exception of the 2 conical shells. They have the same ubiquitus, crappy, hardware, hoops, lugs, shells and pedals that all of the Japanese drums of the period had( Yamaha excepted-----they are unique), which takes them so far away from Trixon as to be on the other side of the planet----literally. It also appears that Trixon may have been influenced by other companies who predated them with the conical idea, such as Trowa. So, are Trixons, Trowa copies?---- because apparently Trowas are Sonor copies but Sonor didn't make conical drums, so now this is confusing. Who then did Trowa copy? Oh, we've got to get to the bottom of this.---------- ---Maybe , the designers of Vivant were German operatives going way back to W.W.2 and when the Axis broke up, they infiltrated Occupied Japan and upon return to East Germany in the late 40's they spilled the beans that they were planning to go back to Japan in the 1960's and revolutionize percussion by making conical drums with cheap labour.------ So, Vivant was the original but the East Germans who everyone knows , copied everything, were quick off the mark ( as short of Marks as they were) and beat them to it with their model Dixie in the late 50's, thereby heralding in The Great Era of Conical Drum Copying. Jeez, if the Latin American drummers only knew that their Congas and Tumbas were actually copies.!!

Nothing to add, exellent comment, Phil !!

I'll try to find a photo "Trowa Dixie" from Ingo and post it here.

If we'll to analyze, the East German engineers who not jumped through the wall, they created more clever and fantastic more numerous constructions compare to Sonor, but not "copies" ---- so all the drums around the world have shells, hoops and hardware, and all are partly similar...

I have a set of these; not sure if its the same one. I bought them about a year ago. Got some period correct hardware and a set of KRUT cymbals. Had my sign guy make the missing badges for me. Fun conversation piece.

Wow, who would have thought two of those would survive all this time. Very interesting drums. Serious pieces of MIJ history.
