Amati timbales

Loading...

I'm not up on the changes to Amati as they headed towards the STOP sign but this looks like a pretty decent pair of Timbales; possibly fairly near to the end of production?------more in the German/Euro style----like large Bongos. Usually there was three . There is almost no info.,listed but for 80.00E. and the shipping would be pretty low in Germany and Europe( 45.00E. to N.A.), these might be worthwhile----esp. ,given the original stand. If I was into Amati , I might nibble.http://www.ebay.de/itm/AMATI-Trommel-Stander-Schlagzeug-vintage-20-25-cm-perlmut-/230749851623?pt=Drums_Percussion&hash=item35b9c34fe7

Hi Phil,

These are not timbales - these are a standard AMATI bongos--- 8" + 6", earlier version.

Not so long I've took a following model - with next shaped lugs. Not bad condition, in blue silk wrap and mounted on original Amati bongo-stand.

Now I prepare to clean em and bartering to original TROWA-IV bongos. :)

Cheers,

George.

But they aren't 8 and 6 " , George. If you look at the listing it says; 20 and 25 cm. ,or almost 8 and 10" There is no such thing as a 10" Bongo, that can legitimately lay claim to being a Bongo. Europeans ,had those tri-timbale rigs----roughly 6-8 and 10". This looks like 2/3 of one of those.

Oh, yes, perhaps it's true - there were 9 and 10" toms in "Amati Europa" set (n. 4090 model), but it seems to me that toms holder was changed by seller to adapt to another stand.
