Please excuse me if this has been answered many times, but I have searched; I can't seem to find a definitive answer on my own.

Supraphonic snare drum, dated by serial # to 1965: should this have, as original, steel or brass hoops?

I have one from 1964 which has c.o.b. hoops.

Is it dumb to assume that a 1965 would be the same?
