I want to list this cymbal on eBay but I can't figure out who made it.

It says,"Made In Turkey Istanbul Genuine Turkish" under a Turkish building.

Cymbal measures 10" in diameter.

Any info will be appreciated!

This cymbal say "Stambul". (seems to discumbobulate my Google search engine). This cymbal seems a bit old, but they don't seem like Paiste "Stambul" cymbals (c.1956-1978). Made in Turkey ??

Hopefully Bill may have an update on these rare beasts.

Now that's an interesting stamp. I can't wait for Bill's take on it. How does it sound?

I'm not a musician. I bought some old cymbals at an estate sale last summer. The guy said his father was a professional drummer back in the late 40's into the 60's. I just put another one on eBay that I think is Zildjian though there's no stamp on it. I'm faststart. I didn't want to list this one without having an idea who made it. This group is pretty amazing. I appreciate the help. George Kelly

Welcome. If there is one person who can help on this stamp, it's Drumaholic. Perhaps he'll chime in. If he's confident that he knows what it is, he may be able to value it for you.

I don't know what company that is. I would like to think its a Turkish one because it says, "Made in Turkey", but that's not guaranteed. I do know of one Italian manufacturer of a nearly identical name called "Stanople" that had a "Made in Constantinople" motto stamped onto at least a few of their cymbals, but this was used for only a short time and the majority of them had a circular "Made in Italy" ink stamp on their underside.

So this one is still a mystery. But I can tell you that these are quite rare, since I've only ever seen one other. And these probably come from the '30's or earlier seeing as how the few that have shown up are small size.

Thanks for the info. Everything I got at that sale was old. Now I have an idea what to put in the listing. I'll list it on eBay tomorrow night and see how it goes. Thanks again for everyone's help! George Kelly
