My name is Brendon, I'm new to posting....I have been lurking about since i acquired a MIJ off of craigslist.

A little about me

I am 24 and i live in oceanside california..i work at whole foods, and a small brewery called oceanside ale works...i like to surf a lot...play tons of drums...i also like to play bucket drums or buskin as some people call it...

a little about my kit

it is a i guess typical blue spackle glitter whatever but the front half is wicket faded so its more orange...i think there was blue there once..

i payed 120 for it...there are 2 floor toms...one of them is in the process of being cleaned...

right now am using everything that came with the kit except for the pedal...i replaced that with an iron corba jr

i tried to post pictures but i have to say hi first..

hi...

Welcome, Brendon,

I'm glad to hear that someone so young appreciates this old stuff. Let us see some pics (also from the hardware you're not using) to see what it's all about.

Hey Brendon, keep your eyes open for the San Diego Drum show in May or June. They had the first one last year and from what I hear, there's gonna be another!! Love San Diego, visit my in-laws often down there. Great city as is Oceanside!!

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

http://brendonsrants.blogspot.com/2012/01/forecast-sunny-with-chance-of-beat.html

so about the kit

made in japan...Guitar Dude ManToiletJump For Joy

6 piece 2 racks 2 floors...not sure of the sizes...the one floor tom i am messing around with is 16'

all drums need new bottoms hoops and heads...along with hardware...not the lugs...just everything else lol

Falling Do

for sanding the inside of the drum what grit of sand paper should i use?

and i have a couple materials that i think would work well for restoring them.....are there any substances or products i should stay away from or be weary of?

also...i havent decided to take on the wrap just yet...maybe down the line...is there a substance i can use on whats there to shine it up...

thanks for all of your help...ill be around for a while.....i can't escape the drums....x-mas2

That is some crazy-a$$ fade dude! Never seen blue fade to orange like that. Like maybe it sat in a sunny shop window for a decade in a nuclear testing site or something. 'Made in Japan' badge is Star/Tama, probably late 60s I believe. Welcome You'll find all your answers here.
