60's Slingerland bass drum spur mount question.....

What did the 60's Slingerland bass drum spur mounts use for a lock nut? A wingnut or a L shaped arm? I know the later 70's mounts used a wingnut. Looking at some gallery and catalog pics I've seen a L shaped arm used in some kits. Mine came without them and need to replace them with something. I have no idea what came with them from the factory. Thanks.

The ones that came on my 1960 bass drum had wing nuts. Kind of Mickey Mouse ear looking ones similiar to the Ludwig wing nuts. But the Ludwig's will work too.

It's going to depend on the year and model. Late 50s and very early 60s and the first few years of the Buddy kits used Mickey wings. The rest of the 60s and 70s used the elongated flat wings. Mickey wings faced the audience and utilized the thinner spur.

I think my bass spur brackets have been re tapped to a larger size. Right now they are at 3/8" coarse and that's way bigger than anything else on the kit. I have some stainless all thread and wingnuts. So for now I'll make a home made pair until I can fix them and get the original wingnuts. On my old 70's Slingerland set the bass drum wingnuts were the same size as the floor tom mount wingnuts. Thanks again everyone great advice!
