the way you have yours done looks a lot like my early 20's nob heavy shell 8 lugger. i made an adapter for the p86 and replaced the original hoop clips with some modern ones that i got from purdie shuffle....

Hey Greg...I went to La Habra Plating...it's like 2 minutes from my house here in La Habra. They charge $55/hour and that's exactly what it cost me...$55. I only got the outside polished, though. Turn around time was about a week. Here's the website: http://www.lahabraplating.com/
I know of the place. Remember when I picked up those 13" hoops from you this summer? I had just come from La Habra Plating to pick up some lugs.
Thanks, Everyone! It was a fun project and a way to breathe new life into an old drum that I wasn't doing anything with.

Wow...they sure look similar, don't they?!? That's pretty much the look I was going for.
As for the badge situation...you are correct. I definitely did not want to put the B/O badge back on...just wouldn't look right. I thought a Keystone badge would work, although since it was drilled for a B/O badge, the hole sits a little higher above the bead than it would for a Keystone, so it'll be a little cut off and covered by the drum head. I think the right badge will come along someday. In the mean time, I'm not too worried about it....I know what it is!

Hey Greg...I had a feeling it might have been you, but I didn't remember your handle on here, since you bought those hoops through CL. How did those work out for you, by the way?

i wouldnt worry about it either. it looks perfect.
as far as badge placement, a ludwig monroe keystone badge might be better suited?
mike
Looks great! Did you have to drill new holes for the different strainer?

The Monroe keystone badges are even bigger than the old keystones, so I don't think those would work, either. I might just use an old keystone if I come across one, but I'm not in a rush.
