i purchased what seems like from the serial number a probable 79' supraphonic.actually found it on e-bay but when i found the owner lived about 40 miles away, went to his house to see it. it sounds terrific and bought it. it is clean! as soon as my scanner is fixed i will post a picture,it is really clean and the experts here can give their opinions/suggestions good/bad. glad to be a member of the forum again!
79' supraphonic
Would it be rude of me to ask how much you paid for it?Excited
a 5 1/2 or 6 1/2....Ive been looking for a reasonably priced 6 1/2...not many out there
Hey, Doug. I have a '79 Supra, too! I love it! Mine is a 5-1/2" depth version. I paid $40.00 for it...in an antique shop....a few blocks down the street from where I live. I was walking by the shop, looked in the window, saw the drum sitting there...kept walking....a few steps more and...it hit me. I went back a few steps and bought it...along with an old concert tom and a Tama single-braced cymbal stand thrown in for good measure. The drum cleaned up and doesn't have a scratch! Apparently, the filth had preserved it!

40 bucks....... I hate you.....LOL
Ok... Not rubbing it in anyones face, but I paid $50 for the 1971 5x14 I just snagged this week off craigslist. Needs a few parts but still... As for the gunk, O-Lugs, I can relate, seems to be the case with mine as the shell is super clean under the crap. What a pleasant surprise.
Well, don't want to rub it in here either, but I got my early 60's COB Supra for free. It was given to me. Mind Blowi
