B/O Badged Ludwig Butcher Block kit with no serial numbers?

Loading...

I have an unusual vintage Ludwig kit and was wondering if anyone can explain why it has no serial numbers? It's 3 ply, natural maple interior, Butcher Block finish (I know ugly), with pointy B/O badges, in sizes, 24", 18", 16", 13" and 13". They are all original and pretty nice, but I have never seen a B/O badge drum without a serial number. So I'm puzzled, any answers?

According to this: http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/serial_numbers.html and other sources, some Ludwig kits built in 1970 don't have serial numbers on the badges...Based on your description, that's probably what you've got.

Thanks, I think that makes prefect sense, they are 1970 models.

Wow, I had never heard of these drums until today and all I'm hearing is how ugly they are but I think they are AWESOME looking.

I want one.

Anyone out there have a matching 1970 no serial number nice 8/12 tom for my kit? I would be willing to trade for one of my 13's. Thanks. BTW, I'm loving the way this kit sounds. It's killer!

Best sounding drums ever,... congratulations with that great kit.

In those sizes,... must sound spectacular.
