Guy needs some money and wants to get rid of these drums.. you think I can turn them around quickly and make my money back???

I don't mind helping the guy out but I don't think I would want to keep this kit.

I don't see them burning up ebay..

Complete kit.. with throne, hi-hats and crash.. B8's. It's in good shape.

With cymbals and extras, I think you could make a few bucks.

I sold off a decent condition no-name kit, no hardware and no cymbals for $100.00.

The Mapex kit is worth $100.00 + easy, IMHO.

I'd agree. You could prob sell that whole kit for $200 as a great starter set for someone with the hardware and cymbals. I bought a Mapex M Birch with hardware and a set of b8's 2 years ago for around $550. Theyre decent drums. I am looking to sell mine soon as I don't want to play anything but vintage now since I've got the bug.

OK just looking for a couple opinions.. I bought the Mapex kit for $100.. actually haven't gotten it out of the van yet.

If you (the collective you) were selling it:

Would "you" list it on ebay, craigslist, want ads, yard sale this summer?

Would "you" part it or sell it complete?

Just curious...

I think I'd start on craigslist first (because it's free) and list it for 250 or so as a complete set, hardware, cymbals and all. My approach would be that it's a great COMPLETE starter set for cheap. If you know any drum teachers or music stores locally I'd put a flyer up there. This would be a great student kit and a low point of entry for a parent to get a real set of drums for their kid.

I couldn't see parting it out being worth the hassle and ebay would be a last resort for me. I'm curious to see how this works out for you.

I will be looking to sell my Mapex M Birch in the next month or two, but I am only selling shells. The hardware is actually reallly really good, so I am keeping it all. I don't feel like buying another set of stands once I finally score a vintage Ludwig kit. I am probably looking to sell the shells only for 350 or so, for all 6 drums ( 10, 12, 13, 16, 22, 14" matching snare)

I agree with Tommy - Craigslist first. If you can get $250.00 without having

to deal with shipping, then that's great. $250.00 is very reasonable for all that

stuff!
