Blaemire 6 1/2 Snare

Loading...

Just got the "chrome, steel" (real steel) wrap off.

First sanding. Holes to fill.

This guy got drilled in some really bad places.

Apparently the original lug hole layout must have changed midway between "beverage" breaks".

4 holes will show, as this drum shall be natural finish like all my green ones.

Oh well.

This shell seems to have the checkerboard fiberglass matting in it.

Gregg have you seen this matting in others?

Jinx is an artist with Blaemire shells. Congrats gg! Deep-dish too! You lucky dog, not only do you find a rare one, you find a -really- rare one!

Dying to see it finished. Talk to Jinx, he may have a way to deal with the extra holes. Cool beans, daddy! Nice drum...

John

Too many great drums to list here!

That one has the drumjinx look all over it. Fantastic looking instrument from the best.

I bought this shell with my first big kit order from Valley Drum Shop in 1978.

Of course Jerry Jenkins provided all the instructions on how to restore it.

Lots of thanks and respect for the jinxman.

It started as gloss white wrap to ebony wood veneer ( I know, sounds good but it wrinkled) to blue wrap. And lots of black paint inside. Lots. Everywhere.

Finally uncovered last year.

ps I gotta clean those rods.

Yes, I've seen some of that while helping Jerry out on some shells. The 6.5x14 Blaemire snares are, to me, the perfect workhorse size. I've used mine in so many different gig situations, it just seems to do it all. I bring these two drums to most gigs, but the poor 402 doesn't make it out of it's case much.;)
