Did they make these in the 70's era?
I have a 69 SS that I love but want to add a second snare or drum to my left.
Something differant but vintage.
Any suggestions?

Get a Jazz Combo or a Downbeat snare drum. The Jazz Combo is a 3 X 13 and the Downbeat is a 4 X 14. The Downbeat is MUCH more costly, however.
You should go to our sister site (Vintage Drum Guide) and surf around the snare drum pages. Just click on the "Visit our partner sites" icon at the top right of this page and follow the links. Here is an example of a page you might be interested in from the 1960 catalog that shows some specialty snare drums:

Thanks for the info O-lugs.
I have been watching the internet since you posted this and have seen many Ludwig piccalo types. They are all pricey arn't they.
Saw a few Jazz combo's but did not like the wraps on them.
They go for around $400.
And there are a couple of seamless bronze piccalo's with the Keystone badge but the lugs ar straight up and down not horizontal like the jazz combo.
Also saw a chrome piccolo B/O badge for about the same. It has the horizontal lugs.
My kit is B/O badge but my SS snare is Keystone. They are all 1969 per the serial numbers. So I was thinking that may be a good fit.
What do you think?
Well I found what I wanted and scored a B/O badge chrome Ludwig piccolo for $350.00 total. My set is 1969 B/O so this will fit in nicely. My 1969 super sensitive has the Keystone badge but it is chrome of course so they will look good next to each other.
It looks just like the Jazz combo 13" x 3.5" with the horizontal lugs.
I don't have any pics yet but I will post them when it arrives next week.
Thanks again O-Lugs for the lead so I knew what to look for.
This forum is fantastic.

Where's pictures? I just acquired a 1976 Ludwig Piccolo 3.5" x 13" with the B/O badge and serial # 107xxxx. I have it stripped down to the bare shell to clean and it measures an actual 3.5" x 13", not the 3" depth I normally read about. Anyone else have one of these little beauties and measured it's depth?
Happy New Year!
Luddie piccolos are way overpriced. If you aren't married to Luddie, you would save money buying another brand.

That maybe the case Tubelugs, however for those of us who have one, it's nice to get info, see pictures and compare drums.
So my question was where are the pictures mentioned in his last post about his new Ludwig Piccolo???
