Heck, kits from the late 70s aren't even "vintage". And no, Mr. Craigslistadposter, there's no such thing as a vintage Tama or CB drum kit, no matter how many people on craigslist list them...
No kidding!!!!
I bought what would be called on craigslist an "old vintage Tama Rockstar kit" today!!!
A God Darnit Amen!!!!!!Yes Sir
I am a minister, so I say
AMEN!!!!
Say it again-
AMEN!!!!
Not vintage, agreed!! but don't you offend my Ludwig Rockers!! cause i still have to hear the first modern "budget"series that have the same punch!!!Sumo Dudelol
I bless Ludwig Rockers!!!!! They are pretty freakin' nice drums!!!! After all- they are Ludwigs!!!!
Though Tama Rockstars are pretty good, as well.

Lets make a deal here! If they are quality brands produced in the country of origin, they are not old and outdated but a fine add to drum-history ;)
And by the time i'm 60, they'll be damn vintage!! (in 40 years that is lol)

I do think that like student drums from Slingerland back in the day and the Acrolite snares of yesteryear, Ludwig Rockers from the '80s that were made in USA will end up vintage. There are certainly enough torn up shells that an original and intact kit will probably fetch real money.
It would be an executeable offense if you advertise the following on Craigslist:1) Use the word "Symbol" or "Cymbol" to describe a cymbal.2) Count the cymbals, stands, and the throne in how many piece drum kit you have.3) Use the term "ready to play, just needs new heads" in an ad.4) Try to sell your POS, Made in China drum kit for more than the MSRP.5) Try and sell a POS student kit on Craigslist after you had rattlebombed it to death with horrid colours and try to pass it off as some great artist's drum kit.Method of execution: honey would be poured upon a naked body and army ants set free to feast upon said body whilst still alive!!!

and they have to listen to New Kids on the Block albums in succession...

We could add that.
Now remember- a person who is selling a "base" drum is subjected to a drum student trying to learn Barry Manilow tunes on drums. Maybe we could add listening to Michael Bolton.
