Need help tracing a vintage Snare Drum...

A friend of mine was given in 1976 a Besson Snare Drum (images to follow)

the badge says Besson London W.2 and just underneath an embossed serial number "12101"

if anyone knows the origins or any information about this drum then please I would be extremely greatful... or even where I can find some information out about it...

I have look throughout google and many Vintage Drum sites and come up with nothing...

and it wont let me put the photos on this forum post so view my profile for the pictures :)

is it the chrome drum on your profile page? Besson became a brand of Boosey & Hawkes and they did prioduce drums under that name. They were basically the same drums as Ajax and some Edgwares but not seeing the drum limits my analysis.

...and your profile name draws a bit less than optimal reading regards, even on this channel...notice it has taken a few days to draw a response...try a different name...

Not trying to be all that "churchy", but we are mostly older guys, avg. age of 50+ and have different lifestyles these days, many, many of us playing for our church bands. A little respect is all.

Well, I'm not really trying to be a dick, but even though I had the answer, and I would have tried that name years ago, I refrained purely based on the name. I have learned some small bit of respect over the years and hopefully this young man will as well.

jc is not the only guy here that would back me up on this, so to the detractors...please, let it be. I am merely stating my opinion based on respect for all, even though sometimes I fall from grace. However, within a few days I ask forgiveness from those I have disrespected. On the other hand, I just find the name offensive. To the OP, sorry, but it is what it is, an offensive name. You may well be a great guy, but the name's gotta go.
