Got the 12-inch tom Purdie gifted me done , but waiting on a badge.

This was a single ride affair for a bit, but Purdie wrapped a Luddy concert tom with the left over Abalone wrap from the outfit he sold me and sent it to me. He included the lugs and mount as well !

Also, ec curtis gifted me the reso lugs, (WOW, man !!) but as you see, I had to stagger them as concert toms have the lugs much more centered on the shell.

Seventies Luddy rims are apparantly hard to come by, but finally I found a couple.

So, thanks a HECKUVA lot Purdie and Curtis for making this happen !!!

Here's a couple of before and afters.....

Awesome! That wrap is seriously killer, and I love the offset lugs.

I remember seeing the thread when Purdie showed us all the free gift. Gotta love this forum

Damn, Kevin, that came out great! I really like the staggered lugs! The kit looks complete and killer. That's one of the most resonant set of drums I ever owned. Love the 6-ply maple shells from that era. You did a bang-up job buddy. I always wanted to see that one 'completed.' You dood it!

Enjoy the kit in good health for many years to come. The good feeling you just gave me can't be bought with greenbacks. Jump For Joy

PS - I've still got three full sheets (I think the -last- three sheets of Abalone on planet Earth,) and you got me itching to re-create the kit. If I find the 'right' set of 6-ply's...

Too many great drums to list here!

You haven't played my WMP MIJ yet...you want resonance, it lasts all day. People beg to record my bass drum.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
