What's with craigslist lately?

Loading...

I recently posted an add under the musicians category about offering my services for vintage drum restoration/repair. I've had an add up ther in the past and got a few jobs from it. This time my ad was "flagged and deleted" So I imediatley reposted it and everything was fine. I thought maybe it was some jealous competitor trying to remove me from the mix.

Then the other day I renewd my add under the "For sale" banner, which clearly states Wanted/for sale, (musical instuments) Stating that I am interested in buying vintage drums/cymbals. The next day it was "Flagged and deleted" So I reposted it and again, flagged and deleted.

I've used craigslist many times, and done some good business buying, selling , getting new studemts, meeting musicians, etc. But whats with this sudden hostility.

Anyone experienced anything similar? And who is this craigslist Gestapo who keeps flagging my posts?

I had the exact same thing happen to me once, only the person who flagged my add created his own add referring to mine saying that it was the for sale section not the wanted section. The person used a few chioce words in his add so I flagged his. Since then I have not had any problems.

It seems that there are people who scour Craigslist looking for adds that they can prey on like it's some kind of game. They really seem to pick on the businesses who put up ads. These same people are probably still living in their parents basement.

I use Kijiji much more than Craiglsist as it is more user friendly and you can search a much broader area. Since Jaxed Site Mash went down it is very time consuming to search on Craigslist.

its always been like that. cl is the only site i know of that makes their users do their work and flag ads, and allows people to post negative ads about other people's ads for:

-price

-name

-religious beliefs

-compitition

-gender

-jealousy

-...or just because they can

those are just a few reasons. very petty. some people with no lives actually sit and flag ads for no reason. what a waste of life.

i even had a guy post ads about me saying i was a hippy and sold bad electronics (which i am not nor do i sell electronics) i never sold stuff to him, talked to him (that i know of), or dealt with him in anyway. so since internet harrasment is a crime, i contacted the cops. and until he makes a real threat they won't do anything but he said they do monitor cl for many other reasons as well.

they also:

- block your ads from view (after a search i found out its called ghosting)

- make you use phone authorazation

- allow scammers to post ads (meaning they don't search and delete them like other sites)

i can go on a on. people are sueing them left and right, have tons of complaints with the BBB and other government sites yet they still continue to operate the way they do.

in the end they're the only site i know that does this kinda stuff.
