3M stuff usually good quality, Is this like a contact cement where you apply it on both surfaces?

Don't know when that will happen- I am probably going to have a stave kit built in the next year. I'll finish that with gunstock oil. That way, it's easy to retouch after the inevitable nicks and such. 'course I may end up covering it after it gets a few gouges...

That could end up being the pink glass sparkle!!!!

I am going to look into spraying some sparkle finish. Im sure it wont be like the factory wrap sparkles but some kind of metalic finish. First I need to make a turntable to set the shell on that turns by itself and can have variable speed controll. Once I get this figured out I am going to try some two tone and some fade from dark to light colors. I have fun playing around with finishes. I am thinking of finding an old bench top drill press to make my turn table from or a small lathe. Bolt a 3/4" round peice of plywood to a face plate and go!

Good "bass boat" sparkle finish could be achieved by your method, and it would be cooler than wrap. You would just have to turn your drill press table to 180 degrees (where the drum would be horizontal) whilst sprinkling the glitter and spraying the clear for the first 10 coats. I built a couple of sparkle Wolfgang guitars over the years...

You would then tint your clears for a few coats to get a coloured sparkle.

Maybe we'll do a pink sparkle instead of veneer...

I was thinking more of spraying the glitter and lacquer at the same time. Dont know if that will work or not. Finally very busy building cabinets again and not much time to experiment. If the glitter could go through the gun it might work but I think it would all settle in the bottom and I have a gravity feed gun so, gee, I dont know. Dont want to go out and buy a new gun for this either. Sprinkeling by hand would be hard to get it uniform. If I could get glitter to go on nice and even and felt like it adheared really good then yes I would follow it up with several build coats that could be tinted any color. Sounds like fun!

I have used the 3M Spray Contact Adhesive.. but for your foam wall dampening, try a sample on the foam rubber first.. you will probably find that it reacts & melts the rubber.

I think it's in the tip as far as the spray gun goes. But big sparkles don't get through any gun!!!!

It's not quite as hard as it seems to get the hand-sprinkled sparkles even...
