once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

No, I don't think so. They never made a straight up 23" cymbal. What they marketed as a 24" measured in the range of 23-1/2" to 23-5/8". And $1500 would be a steal for one of those.

I'd sat the chances are better that it was a trans stamp, in which case the price would be too high in my opinion.

Yeah, I know it is not the exact 23".

Though the price depends on its condition and sound, $1500 for the new stamp & thin weight is a good deal, isn't it? If it were Trans, I'd skip it as well.

Yes too good a deal if it was a K., and too expensive if an trans stamp. It is possible that it was a K. and it wasn't measure precisely, but still I would expect the size to be reported as at least 23-1/2".

And in the case of its being a trans stamp, it was a rip-off price anyway. So no big loss there either.

It would have to be an Istanbul because all 24" K's are Istanbuls. They not did they make anything larger than 20" for drum set use in the Constantinople era, and even these are ultra rare.

The 24s are in the price range of $2200 to $3300 when you can find them, which isn't very often.
