Ludwig Spray Paint Nightmare Kit

Nice work-the Granitone looks "thinner" than I'd expected, less dense, which is a good thing.I prefer the look of a 13" in the mounted position, and the tone is more different/seperated from the 16".But this is personal preference. There is just no feeling like bringing orphans together, back from the dead zone. That was a job worth doing.

The interior paint is not very thick, but there is a little texture to it. I know what you mean about the 13/16 combo. That's what I've been playing with.

As far as worth doing, I'm not so sure. It depends on if you're the guy doing it. I easily put 50 hours into it, and there's a good chance I'll be selling it. There is some satisfaction knowing how far it came though. But if I had known what I was getting myself into, I would never have brought it home.

Man, that certainly was an undertaking. What a nice save and great reward. I have a soft spot for the B/O drums; maybe just reminiscent of the times. Enjoy them. I love the warmer color of the BD, compared to the rest. Just me.

Well... I think this kit is going to be up for sale. I spent some time with this one and my other newly acquired BOP kit, and the BOP wins. It's just in so much better shape, I can't get rid of it. Since I really don't need both, one has to go. I hate to do it after all the work I have in it, but I'll be selling this kit locally. If anyone around the Chicago area is interested, let me know.

Here is the kit that won out: http://vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=24069
