Repairing/stopping existing cracks on vintage wraps

Loading...

As you most know, I came into a Slingerland Yellow Tiger Pearl drumkit that has a spider crack in the wrap, a little bit larger than approx. 2" in diameter. I gently tried to pull it up with my fingernail to see if it was loose and it's pretty stuck on there.

Question is: I was going to try some clear nail polish on the cracks to prevent it from getting further damage and/or hold it together better to protect it from getting knicked.

Anyone ever try this or have another idea?

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....
