VTM2000 and I were at a Guitar Center today, the last leg of another mission, and saw several OCDP snares there. They look great, and we both wondered if they had passed through Mikey's hands in California.

I have no experience with OC drums, but it's sad to see an American drum maker close up. Maybe when the economy gets better the co. will reopen. Hate to see more people lose jobs. Just sucks.

Best of luck Mike.

While the OCDP floor tom/rack tom brackets were obviously made elsewhere- the design is stout and can hold damned near ANYTHING- I am certain Mikey had a hand in the design...

I'm sorry to hear about this latest development. Is there possibly a similar thing going on here comparable to the Simmons drum brand being a proprietary brand in name only that is sourced out by the big retail store chain to any manufacturer that meets the minimal standards for minimal dealer cost?

Leedybdp,I can't go into the story to much. But yes you are right in what you posted...Mikey

i didn't know you worked there (it sounds like it) i can't recall if i knew you, but i used to go down to the shop and mainly talked to john and the other head honcho, don't recall his name.anyway, i thought pork pie was making your custom drums. is that gone too? i may be interested in buying any used drums and parts (non ocdp) you used to have a few boxes of parts missing parts, or a bunch of old midline drums above the bathrooms (a few ludwigs, maybe a tama or 2) if you still have that stuff let me know. if you have stock for the kits, i may be able to help you sell it off. possibly some machinery too. let me know.

I can't reply to any of your questions..at this time... Mikey

Sorry to hear that,I remember a lot of conjecture on the company on a lot of other forums about a year ago.You all really built that company up.I remember looking at your site when I first got online 10 years ago,and I was impressed with the way you repped the company, and how much better the site was than the big boys, from the kit config, and how easy it was to use for a cyber challenged person like myself,I think you guys were ground breakers on how to develop a succsessful drum company in the internet age,be proud of what you accomplished.
