I've heard that the Zildjian Platinum Series cymbals of the '80's is a fairly rare thing to see. Here's one of the 16" thin crashes purchased in 1983.
I tried to capture the more silvery tint of this cymbal, I didn't do as well as I thoughtDOH
I remember drooling over these cymbals back in the mid 1980s. Can't remember which Twisted Sister video it was back then but all of drummer A.J. Pero's Zildjians were the Platnium series.
Sweet. I remember the ad with Troy Lucketta (sp.) (Tesla), Steve Sweet (Warrant) and someone else advertising them when they came out. would've been the late 80s, around '88. I don't think they lasted long.
