Drum ID

It's really the other way around. Pearl put hundreds of brand names on the same drums that ranged from absolute garbage to halfway decent.

I also hate to miss an opportunity to vent my displeasure and disgust with that company for ruining a wonderfully descriptive word for drum wrap.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

I see the nail holes for the Pearl badges- Contrary to many folks here,I like these era drums, moreso the next earlier models with the hex-rod mounts.I'd like to find a complete set like this and recover them in the new version of swirl coverings that are out.Probably blue swirl. And those are my favorite cymbal stands, too.

Looks like the W5 Deluxe from 1978.

Close...it's actually a clock. So, the next best thing I guess. The Band

I used to have a clock that went "BONG"...but, I also had a Bong that cleaned my clock!:D

teverson I think you are right. It looks exactly like the W-5 in the 1978 catalog. Thanks for your help.

Wow, I must say this is one thing i don't like about this forum..New members come here asking about a set we members tell them what we think of the set. Then the person list them on C/L asking 800.00 for a set that needs heads and in ''as-is" condition in your listing. For a set that they should be asking for 400.00 tops for.....Mikey

So, who are you to tell me what I should be asking for this set? I could ask $1 million...yeah so what if it's ridiculous, if it doesn't sell I drop the price...simple as that. Whine and moan all you want, it's obviously happened before, I'm sure it will happen again, so if you don't like it than leave. I'm well within my rights to come on here and ask info regardless of intent.

Obviously I'm clueless about drums, but that doesn't mean I can't go out there and try to sell it for as much as I can...I didn't post the ad claiming that it was in fact "this set" or "that set" my ad is straightforward and honest as anything. There really wasn't much else out there to compare it to so I haphazardly chose $800 as the starting price. I'm sure you know what you're talking about so I'll drop it down a bit and accept offers...still a pm or email might have gone over a lot better.

If, however, you were making an offer of $400 feel free to contact me. Otherwise I'm not sure what the intent was of your post.

I'm OK with that, like I said, I had no idea what to initially offer this thing for...so call it what you want.

I'm sorry this made you all upset, however, it would have been even more disappointing for me to have sold something for $400 when I could have sold it for $1,000, know what I mean? I don't HAVE to sell this set, I want to, so I am going to get the most for it that I can...if it doesn't sell for what I want I can keep lowering my price until it does. I...guess...that could be considered a rip off to someone, personally I don't see how that would work...Oh well.

I have no more interest here so here is the ad. Make fun of it all you want...please, if I can't sell this thing at least I have made you feel better about yourselves by enabling you to belittle someone who doesn't know any better. Have fun, really, this should be good material for you "experts"!
