I'm in want of a kit exactly like this one and the guy who posted the youtube video hasn't responded to my comment/private message i sent him a round a month ago.

I want to know what sizes all these drums are. The snare isn't important as I'm getting a Supraphonic so I don't want whatever snare he has on the kit.

The kick sounds so Phat and awesome. My guess is that the rack toms are something like 14x8s, but I'm not sure.

There out to be a universal law against idiots that hit as many drums as they can as fast as they can in no paticular order with no ryme or reason and then smack cymbals cuz they`re there and sound alltogether horrible, obnoxiuos and deserveing of a good slap upside the head !!

Looks like a 12x8, 14x8 sit`n on a 22 with a 16 and added 18 floor.

Please tell me you wont do this crap with yours and then post a you-tube link !! :D

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

For me, the drumming was a yawn. I am not a guy who really likes drum solos, anyways. I will listen to a Terry Bozzio drum solo 'cos it's musical and has melody.

But, those are sweet Premier drums, so it's nearly forgivable.

Premiers are hard to come by here in the States. But my wife is going home to see her mum next month and will hopefully find me a set of nice Premiers in good nick and maybe not too much $$$.

Premier always did odd sizes. I don't know if they stopped doing 14x8 toms after going with International sizes in the beginning. I know that several '70s and '80s Premier kits (before the power shell sizes) had 14x10" toms, but there could have been a few with 14x8" toms. I know that their Pictures of Lily re-issue had 14x8 toms, but that was a limited edition that in my opinion was incorrect in so many ways. If I were to re-issue a kit, I would have made it with the period-correct hardware, even if I would have had to buy old kits to get the correct hardware.

I know that kit's not a Resonator, so you're not going to pay and arm and a leg to get that exact kit.

Thanks for the help guys. I'll probably have to buy each piece of the kit on ebay as each piece I want appears.

Will an 12x8 or a 14x10 give me a similar sound to the 14x8? I am having a lot of trouble finding 14x8 toms for sale. Perhaps I'll have to buy a new one from a custom drum shop, but I'd like to get a vintage premier one, because the rest of the kit will be premier...

14x8 toms have a unique sound. It's tough to explain it. You could be similar with a 13x9. But 14x8 was a Premier thing.

What Premier kit are you wanting? I pieced mine together from kits on Craigslist and ebay. I used Marching drums, drums from an APK (in my opinion, they still evoke the Premier sound) and drums from a Powerhouse kit. There's a nice Powerhouse kick and rack tom on ebay right now that would be good buys. Keith used mahogany shells, and these would be the right shells. The lugs are the short, individual Art Deco lugs, but if you're going to re-wrap, you can get some long lugs. More Premier parts than complete drums come up on ebay for some reason...

You could get a 14x10 and have it cut down (and get a new re-ring), but it would be cost prohibitive. You're not going to find a new custom shell that will be quite like a Premier shell.

Thanks!!!

That is a nice kit. If I had the $$$, I would be all over it. Definitely Moonie sound, even though there isn't a row of 14x8's, a 16x20 floor or two kicks. But this is the kit that would give you the Moon sound.

Edit: Just re-read the description. Since it is a frankenstein that was re-wrapped, I would offer about $1200 or leave it.
