I got the BUGGGGGG!!!!

Loading...

Ok, I have the drum bug.

I found a Pearl Professional Series snare drum on my local Craigslist for $80 bucks. I have already searched the forum for anything related to these drums, and so far, have not found anything bad about them. Its a 10 lug snare, 14x7(im assuming 6.5; havent found anything saying that the 7" depth was available). I am awaiting the seller to get back to me, as the listing thats up doesnt get into detail about what its made out of, how old, etc. Im assuming these snares are COB? Maybe something different? Any info anyone has out there would be greatly appreciated.

Tried the Pearl forum, yet?

Assuming the drum is not from the '80s, the seller probably measured the drum from the edge of the hoops.

I am just taking stabs here, but I would definitely recommend going to Pearl's forum. You may find out everything you need to know there.

Yep, I searched the Pearl forum, and nothing. There was actually more info on here than there, strangely enough. I did read the post(s) about someone who was in the exact same position back in June of this year, debating on whether or not this snare was worth it or not. ZMAN came through in the clutch in that post, so Im going to assume that what he posted, that its a good investment. I am going to do some more research, but thanks bunnyman for your responses on both of my snare posts. And how can you stand smelling like cotton candy for that long?? LoLoLoLo

You're welcome. I am hoping that someone can come forward with more info, as I may be coming across one, as well.

As far as the cotton candy aroma, the way it got there was quite fun; however, the wife isn't quite as understanding...

Yea, I ended up not getting the drum. He wanted $80 for it, which seemed reasonable. Upon inspection, the butt end plate was cracked down the middle, the throw off strainer plate was missing all together, the snares were not the correct extended snares, and the plates on the bottom of the strainers were missing. I offered him $40 cash for it, but he refused saying he couldnt go lower than $70. Then I said good luck in trying to get that much!!! hahahaha

Sounds like one delusional dude.

$50 would have been all of the money.

$70 would be daylight robbery!!!

But, DUDE, it's a f__kin' Pearl. And, it's oversized. Your "wife-beater" shirt, tattoos, and facial piercings would look dope with that drum.

I joke. I am obviously from the wrong generation to appreciate that forum. It only took me one brief look around the Pearl enthusiast forum to not want to return to it. Furthermore, I don't think that it's anyone else's business to know the sizes of my sticks.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

I have only used that forum through a Googling of things like "Tommy Lee Drum Kit" and such. I am not a facially pierced, tons o' tattoos, wife beater wearing d-bag. I guess I don't fit there, any ways...
