I was guessing at the date of my red marching drum. If I do some digging I'm sure to come up with a proper date.

Yes - it would be nice to be over there and take a good look around for Carlton gear. I have a 1930's 14" Carlton tom with a tacked reso head. It's missing the proper timpany-type t-rods. I'd love to find them. Bun E. Carlos (Cheap Trick) bougth it from "King Louie" (England?) and I ended up with it - eBay purchase.
I would say the Carlton drums in this thread are a steel at the price I see being offered. I'd "snap" them up in a heartbeat if I was over there anywhere near them. Man - you can't even buy a decent used snare drum for 150 quid..and here is a set of decent looking Carlton drums for that.
Someone over there should be all over these.
