Hey Jonni! I'm not yet convinced it is Red Marine Pearl. The original color is too close to a purple or dark rose. I've attached a picture of a 60's MIJ snare drum I had that was definitely RMP.

Hi Gary! Hope you had a great 4th of July! Yes, that snare drum does match your kit. Unfortunately, I sold it some time ago! Really too bad, as it had RK style lugs (not the ones you see in the picture) and original die-cast hoops, which are fairly rare on a MIJ drum! I'll have to bring this drum out to you so you can have a look and determine what you think the color is.

I just sold a floor tom in that wrap. It was labeled 'GRACY'. That FT is gorgeous, as is your snare. The FT is a three ply with rings. I'd never seen that wrap before I picked the FT up. Here's a pix or three...

It reminds me a lot of the "Rustic Pearl" finish that the Grestch Catalina Jazz kits were available in. I think that finish has officially been discontinued, but you can still buy it at some online sites. At the drum studio where I teach, they have that exact Rustic Pearl kit. The "reds" are definitley more rose colored. It would be interesting to compare your drum to the "new" finish on the Grestch.
