1969 Ludwig Blue Sparkle Marching Snare 10x14

Loading...

Hey all, I'm stopping to by to post some pics of this crazy steal I got. Part one is this 1969 (I believe) Ludwig marching snare. Its 10x14 blue sparkle. In incredible shape. I got this with a 1968 Ludwig ambassador snare at a street fair for a combined price of (drumroll) $35!!

This baby was covered with some crazy white plastic wrap (probably to mach the school color, because it came with a hardcase that says a school name on it). But I could see the blue sparkle poking through the cracks. The white was just held on by the lugs, so now I've got this bad boy. No pitting to speak of, just needs a clean. Any ideas on value?

Thanks

Sorry to say, but it's worth not much more than you paid for it. Marching drums have a lot less value than drumset drums, sorry but that's the way the market is.

With that said, nice looking drum! :D

I always wanted to try a 10X14 snare on my drumkit but never could find a stand low enough so it would'nt set so high when I played it

Here's what you can do with this drum: Convert it into a tom for

someone that has a luddy blue sparkle set, as an additional rack tom!!

(That would be me, by the way). How much do you want for it, as is??

I think the drum sounds great. Scored mine for approx. $60. I keep mine on my Downbeat kit.

You can always cut down the bottom tube of the stand...Making the stand shorter....Mikey

Never thought of that one(hence my user name). My buddys has the same problem. He replaced basket/shaft of the stand with a Pearl tom arm and put an ISS mount on the marching snare hoop.He says it works ok but........
