Here's one from the early 80s. I was playing a show in California (across the bay just outside of Oakland) with my much missed mid70s Premiers. I loved that kit. Don't recall why I was dressed like a dweeb ... more so than usual ... but I guess there was a reason.
A Perfect shot...cut the top of yer head right off! As for why we dressed like that...it was the 80s man!, We all looked goofy! Glad my mom let my sister have all the scrap books, they will never see the light of day again!
Okay, here it goes:
1st pic - april 2008, our first gig. I had those terrible new Stagg drums and even more horrible sticks with such trashed tips that nowdays, I wouldn't dare to so much as touch a drum with them. All the cymbals were borrowed from a drummer from the next band and I only used hi-hats anyway (had them set on closed - I didn't know how to use my left foot. Not that I know that now)

2nd pic - april 2010, annual gig. I already had my beloved Sonor Force 2007 drums - not vintage, but very nice drums, especially after two years of owning Stagg. I still used two rack toms then. I also started to really enjoy drumming...

3rd pic - may/june 2011, practice for school performance of musical Rebelové (Rebels), consisting of 60s Czech pop music (mostly american pop music with czech lyrics, or some old swing, wich was hated by communists untill rock'n'roll came.) You can see a little bit of my Amatis and a bigger bit of our saxophonist and lead singer.

4th pic - may 2011. Result of my bad left-hand technique. It hurt like hell, but I was slightly drunk and really high on endorphines, adrenaline and testosterone at the time (it was a REALLY good gig), so I just enjoyed all the blood coming out of me, scaring people.

Sorry for the bad quality.
Friend taking the pictures was experimenting with new Infa Red film. No flash. Shutter stayed open longer. He didn't realize he had to be perfectly still.
Anywho, I am so bummed. I was 100% sure I had a set of Slingerlands and a set of Red sparkle Ludwigs I threw together.
Looking at the pictures the white pearl set is deffinetly MIJ (horse poop).
So I had no idea what brand the drums were. So I called the old band members and they thought they were Swingland drums? Gee's what a let down. lol
Oh well.

Me and Mr. Rogers 1972 at a couple of different gigs. 1972 Rogers KOA 12,13,16,18, 22 with a brass Dynasonic. I bought it new with summer job and gig money. I was 15 and we getting paid. Heaven.
I was hoping for a better recent picture of me playing, but this is all I have right now. Anyway, there I am with our southern California Surf-Rock group around 1963, and recently jammin' with a couple of the original members of the group and some new players. Same Ludwig Hollywood Kit....STILL ROCKIN'...The Ventures, The Surfaries, Dick Dale, Duane Eddy and The Beatles.
Okay... here goes...
1: Jr. High 'Dance Band' 1965 (I'm sure we caused back injuries with our erratic beat)

I also like these two trippy photos. If I squint at the second one, I'd swear that's Keith Moon in his mod striped shirt! And I can see you guys had a Vox Continental organ. Awesome...
I was only a few years old then, but I gotta think that was the best time to be in a band, '63 to '68. At least that's my favorite period...
