Love the driveway photo! I can imagine the awesome garage sounds you guys were blasting out, especially with that Fender rig....And I love that you still only have one rubber foot on that cymbal stand! I've got two just like it. Where the hell do those go?For those who dig the garage sounds, this is a cool site to mess around on. They have a gallery of a bunch of no name bands that were playing some cool gear....http://www.beyondthebeatgeneration.com/

it may just be me, but i clicked on that link and my computer locked up and then crashed. i then found a trojan horse associated with that time frame. just givin ya a heads up...

Here is my first drum set on my first paying gig in 1960. At this early juncture, I set the drums up lefty style because I am profoundly left handed. But, I played my snare and ride cymbal righty style. I soon thereafter began playing a righty set-up. I frequently play left handed ride on my righty drum sets. The drums are a mid 1950's Gretsch three piece outfit in Cameo Coral and Charcoal Gray Duco two tone finish. I still have and still use those A Zildjian cymbals and stands.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Here's another taken in 1971. Although not visible in the photo, I'm playing my '64 Ludwig OBP Hollywood kit (12,12,16,20). You can, however, see part of the Supraphonic.

Too bad you don't still have those. The pattern of the color is called "Harlequin", and is very highly sought after today, in any color combination. They made those in many combos, and it was up to the drummer to custom order, or the store to stock them in these combinations of colors. Really cool vibe on that one!

That's Fred, he played Bass and was our lead singer. We had met probably about 2 years before this photo. Fred became my closest and longest lifetime

friend, until his sudden passing in April 2005. Not a day passes that I don't think of him, and the laughs we had. I miss him dearly.
