From royal ace

HUH? No plastic here! Also, for me, this vies with the Gretsch micro-sensative as the most visually elegant throw, but it's simpler and more reliable than the micro 'tombstone'.Ron

I may have forgotten that it was metal. ON THE SIDE (would you care to snap a picture of that?) behind the metal disc plate, They had a tendency to buckle under pressure and break easily. Elegant but not very durable.

Hey guys, what about this nice baby from Marietta GA?

Only first time I see that seller pointing the truest name of this famous original german wrap... :)

George.

By gum, on close examination it does appear to be plastic! Fortunately, however it's in perfect condition. Live and learn. Ron

While we're on the subject, should there be any interest, I would entertain reasonable offers to buy this drum, which I don't play. It was stripped of its original wrap and refinished by a previous owner. It is in excellent all-around condition, with some pitting on the top hoop. Ron
