I got these from Rich King last week on ebay. I must say, the wrap and chrome are in stunning shape for a 1969. This is the first Slingerland set I've ever owned. It's a Buddy set in 22, 13, 16 sans the second floor tom. Yes I know it's the wrong bass drum size, but looking at the catalog the 24 was an option. And yes, I also know Buddy would never have played that finish. It's the two cymbal holders on the bass that defines it, so I'm told.
Yellow Tiger Slingerlands
I was watching that auction closely. Beautiful kit. It is stunning. I'm so glad it went to one of us so that we could get the lowdown and bask in the mojo.
Looking forward to the cool detail pics.
Forgot to add ... my Buddy kit is the same 22,13,16 (matching snare). So, it only has a single 16 and a 22 bass. It's definitely a Slingy Buddy kit ... in all it's glory.
I've wanted one of those Yellow Tiger kits. LOVE that wrap.
I have higher res pics, but it wouldn't let me upload them. Hmmmm

If you gave him enough $$$,Buddy would have played them.....for about 1 week!
Yes Buddy might have played then once and then he would have broken the nose of the drum company rep.
Wicked. Looks like they found a nice home.
(Not to mention a nice place IN your home. Wish my drums were in the middle of the living room :D )
