"As far as it being a "glass" or "sparkle'' wrap, yes it is."

What does that mean?

Thanks Lucky. I was wondering if this was the Pink kit.

You told me it was champagne, could've sworn.

But it's pink looking for sure.

Just wondering if these drums found a good home?

Lucky,

YES! They did!

I found the one, took some searching but I did.

It was a guy who owns/trades old rogers, and gretsch kits.

He's in his late 20's and very enthusiastic about vintage gear.

He is planning on re-wrapping it this summer, and restoring

it to it's more original look.

If I understand this correctly, the wrap was original and this young individual purchased the kit to rewrap it?

If I have this correct...

Sometimes, we can choose between deals and do what's best for the drums. It all depends on where we place value, though. I would be remiss if I didn't air my disappointment here. It absolutely breaks my heart to think of these drums being ruined (in my eyes) with the justification of a buck. Sorry. That's just me and where I place things in my life. Not all are the same, and that's cool. Just felt I needed to put this here as this is a Vintage Drum History site.

Agreed 100% re-wrapping that kit is heart breaking...

Original look, that kit was as original as could be! Thats a shame, pink sparkle is pretty rare and it was not in bad shape!

I hate to break this to you peter, but this guy knew what he was doing.

That kit wasn't as original as we thought.

We did quite a bit of research and I think there is a great possibility that

the rack tom had holes drilled in it (even before the other mount was installed)

Speaking of which.. at that point being that you drilled the extra holes are you really that concerned with the re-wrap? I mean, those holes REALLY killed the value. Not to mention, pink sparkle is not very rare when other wraps are considered.. It seemed pretty common in fact to me, after reading up in catalogs. But I do agree, I loved the finish. I can assure you th kit will be cared for. The man restored a gretsch round badge to perfection like I have never seen, He knows what he's doing. In fact, he's so particular that he's almost annoying about it.
