what info is needed to identify this premier kit

Loading...

i now know that it is impossible to identify this drum from this picture. the person that the kit belongs to has not sent me a pic of the inside of the shell which i now know is necessary so i know what they are. he did tell me that the inside is a clear finish of a light colored wood which i am hoping is birch or maple. also from what i have looked at it appears that they are apk or xpk. tell me if i am on the right track about narrowing it down. i will post pics as soon as i get them but can anyone help me narrow it down a little. they appear to be a middle of the road type kit that probably sold for about 800.00 usd new or are these an entry level kit that is not worth much. i am trying to work a trade for a 1980's ludwig rockers kit and i need to be fair to both of us and i want to have the right info when i propose the trade. he is going to use these for recording and i want to be able to tell him these premiers would do a good job and i want that statement to be true. if someone can direct me to the right info on these i would appreciate it

By the badge, lugs, and finish id say this is an early 2000's cabria or vitria kit. Neither were made from one type of wood, both had composite shells.

I'm pretty sure Premier stopped using one-piece lugs earlier than the 2000's. The APK's and XPK's as were, had the fittings like the one pictured in the mid 90's as I used to have a set. I'm not 100 per cent, but just putting it out there!

Tama Superstar, 22, 22, 16, 14, 13 Desert Burst
Premier Genista, 22, 16, 13, 12 Black Lacquer
Premier Genista, 20, 14, 10 and snare Black Lacquer
Premier Resonator 22, 16, 14, 13 poly creme/black
Zickos 22, 16, 14, 13, clear acrylic and snare

thanks for your help. could you tell me an approx value of these in fair condition 4 piece without snare. sizes are 22" kick, 10" and 12" rack and 14" floor. just ballpark and i have 200.00 in them. not looking to make a fortune just give a fair deal to for both. these were bought from a pawn shop and had 5 cymbals with kit and they were 14" new beats, 2 16" crash and A and an A custom a 14" thin crash and cheap ride so the cymbals have already covered cost but don't want to give away the kit either. also the bass mounted tom holder was missing any idea if another brand of double tom holder would fit.

thanks for all the help

I would say between $250-400. APK is covered, XPK is lacquered. Not bad drums AT ALL. I think you would be darned near even in a trade.

Yeah- I'm THAT guy!!!
