Can you remove and re use grommets?

I'm stripping out a set of Slingerlands because the shells are rotted out. I want to pull the badges. The slingerland grommets are a different animal. Do they repop these grommets, or do I need to try and save them? CAN I save them?

Normally, I can`t see save`n one undamaged, but,..if you`re killing the shells,..maybe you could cut a circle around the grommet, snip away the wood and have and undamaged grommet that you may be able to straighten out a bit and re-install with a grommet tool.

I duno. just an Idea !!

Yes you can re-used the grommet's i have done this many times over the years..You just have to take your time and re-move the grommet with out messing up the back side of it..used a good hole punch with a sharp tip on it and work around the grommet to fold back ,then take a rounded end punch with a hammer and tap the grommet out from the inside of the shell...Mikey
