Excuse me if this has been put out there before as I'm still rather new to this great forum.

I would absolutely love to hear sound samples of your vintage kits.

I don't mean a long involved solo, you know just bim, bam, boom and a couple cymbal crashes.

I see that there is a video section. Maybe put them in there?

Putting sound to these great trap sets (did I just say trap?) would be the

Pièce de résistance!

By the way, what is the meaning of trap set? I've said it in the past but really never knew why?

A few of the issues we've run into in the past are

1. Crap recording

2. Crap heads

3. Crap tensioning

4. Crap drums

5. Crap playing

6. Crap attitudes

These and several others have helped guide the decision making process in isolating the video section of this forum.

I like the idea, but there are just too many flunky mooks who honestly don't have a clue to make it worth culling through to get to a nice sound or video file for vintage drums. Just hang out at a few of the cooler vintage drum dealers for some nice video and audio files. I might suggest Mlvibes joint. Also, Steve's is a top notch hang. There are others out there. Definitely worth a look.

Crap...

I guess what you're saying is the sound quality of us amateurs taking samples would not do our vintage drums justice. I dig that.

However personally, I wouldn't be judging the quality so much as just a chance to hear vintage sounds of old drums featured here on this forum.

I'm afraid crappy recording quality,+ horrible drumming skills, on top of crappy cymbals+ heads and crappy cheap studio kits, doesn't do much for your evaluation process, my Form mate Rogersling is just trying to save your ears from what would eventually get submitted, we actually did get a few great examples, but 98% where torture.that is what eventually lead the Moderators the task of removing this feature from the main section on this forum.

One look at early drumsets and you'll know that they were aptly named.
