I very much appreciate the ability on this forum to differentiate among the subtleties. So here goes.
Bought this recently and am guessing 70's
22" ride, very heavy (over 3100g). The stamp is 1.25".
Sweet higher pitch ping.
Can anyone help with this ?
The cymbal god is here,...patience, he will speak !!
Drumaholic is the expert but I would say 60s.
Scott
I believe that to be an early 60s cymbal - stamp should actually be 1 3/16".
Thanks, that is better than I thought.
Do you think polishing is what wore the stamp down like that.
I wouldn't think it did. Otherwise the "grooves" would be gone as well. The cymbal just isn't perfectly flat, so the stamp didn't cut as deep (or not at all) at some places. I could easilly be wrong, though.
:2Cents:
Right. It's just a half-assed pressing, that's all.
