Loading...

In my quest for a good old ride I came across one in the used cymbal rack...

played it and went o my! Excited

Got it home played it then weighed it, weight is around 2267g

18 dia

No screen printing on top or bottom.

I'll snap a pic of the stamp tonight and post it up.

KILLER sound! very little wash and what is there is controlled, GREAT stick definition and its all ping.

Almost sounds like a brighter earth ride.

Im guessing its 60's era, thin Zildjian stamping, heavy lathing with subtle hammering mostly visible on the underside.

GREAT ping note to it that cuts clear through anything, VERY gongy sound if played as a crash...well try to play as a crash...it don't crash.

The bell has a razor sharp almost church bell tone to it.

Never heard one like it.

Stamp is different then the one on my ride. I bought them advertised as "Quick Beats", they sound right. No idea on the age though.

Drumaholic, about the 18"close-up of the stamp photo,

Is that knurling put on after the latheing or is there a wheel on the end of the tool ?

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

That knurling that you see is an artifact of the lathing process itself.

The 18" is early 1970's and the hats are 1960's.
