My very first kit Crown MIJ's

Loading...

Crown's, wish I had mine back. I was able to find my Ludwig Standards after 33 years. I wonder if I could find the Crown's... I think I sold them around 1971. The pix is of me on 'em in '66 or '67.

Fishwaltz, that is the coolest picture I've ever seen! You're clearly in a basement, you're behind a killer kit, and it's 1966! I can only dream! I can hear the fuzz and Farfisa....

Would love to see more of that from you guys that played during the greatest era of music....

Those look exactly like my WMP kit. The same tom mount, the same cymbal arm mount. The bass T-rods look more like Star than mine. Do you remember, did the Ts have little "ball ends" on the head ends? Man, now I know that my kit could be a Crown! Or one of 100 others....

Hey, yeah. It's cool to see some of the old vintage member pics to go with the vintage drums. Don't know whether it's been done here before, (not sure how to search for that) but I'll contribute in hopes of maybe seeing some more from other members. Here's me, about '73 I think, on my brand new black, (boring) Coronets. Worked for a whole week, doing odd jobs at my Dad's bank branch to make $60 to buy a used Zildjian to replace that nasty stock pie plate... never managed to replace the hi-hats though. Man, those were just nasty!

Thanks, I even gigged with that kit in High School. Ahhh, those cymbals... makes the stomach churn, just thinking about 'em.

I'm sorry jonni, but I don't know. I've got a couple other pictures of that kit around here, I'll look and see if I can discern the detail.

Jonni - Looked at the other picture I have of that kit, just can't really tell. It's about a year earlier I guess, and the picture is dated Jan. 12 1965. The good thing about having that kit was that it impressed hell out of this gal I was interested in at the time.

She took the picture.Excited
