Advice on non sesponsive seller... NON ebay, but VD member...

From Ludwig-dude

I didn't want to name names, but it sure sounds like his style......I hope it isn't either.....I know I've been away, but didn't we cover this some time back? And didn't David start a "know who you're buying from" thread or something like that? And wasn't there a "beware of vadrums" thread or some such thing?Cooked Egg

Affirmative on both LD....

dluquette, I'm sure Vadrums is a nice person when you are face to face, that being said, his deals with some others here that were not face to face have been less than pleasurable according to the buyers.

I had my own dealings with him too, and he was not as truthful as he could of been, nor did I think he did the right thing ethically. Lesson learned for me, he'll never see a dime of my money again and I'll make sure others know of my own personal story.

Its better to have people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them wrong, unless you doubt yourself then speak away....

uh oh... Thanks for your advice, but according to you guys, maybe I dealt with the wrong person! He responded to my "wanted" ad here, and he had so many posts.... he responded so quickly with pictures. ugh.

I have been hoping I wouldn't have to do this and he would make it right, but it's not looking good. I "purchased" a Slingy bass mount from VADRUMS on 11/18/10. He was very responsive before giving him $, he's been off and on about communicating since (nothing lately)...making promises here and there and I still have not received a thing from him. I know some may say it's my fault for not checking him out first, but all I have to say is....REALLY?

Anyway, off my chest now and I'll count that $35.00 as a good lesson.

Damn I was hoping to never hear that name again....Vadrums. Count me in as another bad experience. It's been about a year now and despite several promises from him to get me my Slingy t's and claws, I have given up hope. Emailed me every 5 mins to check in until he got the money.....then nothing. After about 4-5 months sent me bent and striped T's that were unusable. What a waste on such a good site. He also robs people on other common drums websites under the same name.

Well I guess I am not alone with Vadrum issues...

I bought what was supposed to be a 60s Super Sound King off him about 2 months ago. It was disassembled in his pics to, which is fine as long as all the parts are there.

It was discussed before hand that all the parts were there and the only issues were one missing piece on the strainer and 2 small extra holes in the shell.

I get the drum after about 3 weeks and several e-mails asking where the drum is.

Well the drum is a mess... sent me only 8 lugs for a 10 lug drum, no mounting hardware, missing half the parts for the strainers, DID NOT SEND THE HOOPS.

Sent him a very nasty e-mail got one response saying he had the parts, then never heard from him again.

 oh well guess I got some parts for my other Super Sound King out of the deal.

I do want to add, I have had several positive transactions on here, from new members and vets . This issue with Vadrum has been my only issue. I will continue to purchase things here from members I won't let one bad apple ruin it for me.

N,o No, I understand your pain, Vadrums records has been shall we say suspect at best. He is banned on another forum I'm also on, due to repeated threads of this same member doing the same thing. I will add I have had one transaction with Vadrums and it went smooth as glass, but I will not now.

I just wanted to make sure that if anyone who is new around here sees this thread, that they know this is not the norm.
