Can anyone tell me ANYTHING about this? (well, anything else the link i provided can't tell) What kinda wood, what year(s) this wrap was offered. Anything and everything would be appreciated.

Here's a link to what I have, i have the c-200.

Sweet wrap!

Yeah, finding anything matching will be tough, but you just can't ever tell. Watch CL and eBay and the forums. You know they sold more than one kit in that wrap, the trick is how many have survived.

Best of luck!

Add more pieces??? That set is complete! Set it up like Max Roach and rock like Bonham!

I think these were made from around 1968-72.

Please post some more pics when you have it set up!

You don't need to add any more drums IMO, they're perfect the way they are. Besides, more drums means more stuff to lug around. I hate carrying drums...and so does every other musician I've known - they rarely help.

I think the colour is blue thunder, year: 1968, 6ply shells (birch/lauan).

Very cool kit - and now it's complete (except the BD mounted cymbal holder but they are rickety old things that rattle badly when used)

Easy fella's! I mainly just want a 16x16 floor tom to go with my 14x14.

The set is in my basement and its hard to photograph down there, its dark. One day here I'll bring it upstairs and snap a few.

I wanna give them a good cleaning (one drum at a time). Take the hardware off and polish them- the full 9 yards!

Some of the hoops are peppered with specs of rust. I wanna clean them the right way, too. Gotta do some research on that ans get some opinions on products.

I think the shells were birch/Luan? I the rims are lightly spattered with rust I would soak them in a bath of hot water and dawn dishsoap, scrub with soft nylon brush,I have heard coca cola and tin foil for any remaining rust, rinse and then put turtle wax in the green bottle on it ,and buff. Cool looking kit,by the way.

In the early years, this wrap is also known as Blue Willow. I believe Blue Thunder came a lttle later as these look to be 68-70 model drums. I would need to see the snare closer and clearer to tell, but they appear to be early built, and the shells would be thinner than 6 ply.

Please open up the bass and floor tom, take a few pix of the interiors and edges. Also, please provide some shots of the snare, lugs, strainer and butt plate. That would be an easier way for us to get you more info. Also, a good clean shot of the badges as that will also tell us the era.

Will get pics one day, I promise.

The "badges" are stickers that have silver keystone like shapes that simply say "YAMAHA Made in Japan"

More pics soon! I'm headed to work.

Actually, Yamaha carried Blue Willow at the same time as Blue Thunder. BW was available on the 600 and YD series. BT was available on the 200 and C series. These different series were year dependent.

Wow, too confusing. I thought these wraps were only available for a very short time. All the 1970+ kits I've seen had a different style of wrap - like this one:
