hi everyone. a fiend tells me he saw something regarding factory instructions about breaking in a new cymbal. Anyone seen this?
cymbal break in instructions
Never trust a fiend. They are scary.
As far as cymbal break-in ... This has been done for much longer than I've been on this here Earth. The goal is to loosen up the metal. Take some tymp or cymbal mallets and go to town on it. Controlled rolls from bell to edge to bell. Spread the rolls all across the cymbal. Do this for several minutes a couple of times a day for about a week. That's all there is to it. I honestly have no idea if a company did a video or put out instructions on this. I learned this WAY back in the 60s and have done it ever since. I teach my colleagues when it's appropriate. Many members here are familiar with this technique. Hope it does you good.

thanks. just wrapping my head around the concept of cymbals changing...
I've never seen factory issued instructions but that doesn't mean some don't exist. Does you fiend say what factory?

Certainly, I would not trust anything that a fiend had to say about it.
Clearly he would not have your best interest at heart.
He might tell you to go and take a sledge hammer to it or something.
With fiends like that, who needs enemies?
Shouldn't that read, "With fiends like that, who needs enamas"?
you dummers
are so funny
