Will the Sonor Multikey fit Premier slotted rods?

Loading...

Simple question (I suppose).

Will the Sonor Multikey fit Premier slotted rods?

I think the "heads" of the Premier slotted rods don't have an extremely large diameter, but I'd like to know whether it'd fit before I buy the key. To prevent the possible hassle of having to return it and stuff.

I don't have any Sonor slotted rods to try for myself with my Premier key.

(I have a Premier key, of course, but I'd like to have at least one cheap spare key now that I'll be gigging the kit).

Thanks

It won't fit. It even doesn't fit on Vintage Sonor screws.

But you may want to try this: http://www.stdrums.de/tips/key/key.htm

Thank you.

I'll pick one or two of them up, and if necessary modify them.

The rods are from a Premier Elite btw.

What really surprises me is that the Sonor key doesn't fit vintage Sonor rods :p.

I guess they changed their slotted rods at some point... Weird...

You may be able to modify the slot key part, but it doesn't fit any Premier rods I have tried it on... I think the bit that fits in the slot is too thick.

Haha, thanks.

Cleaning them is a pita to do by hand. If they're just dusty it's often enough to just pull the edge of a cloth/towel or the like through the slot. In case you don't have air in a can :p. Or in case the air in the can is dirty/diabolic/corrosive/at ambient pressure/etcetera.

Blowing gets you started too...
