Not even sure whether it's vintage

Loading...

It's been a while since I last posted here :(. There's always more important stuff that needs attention.

But anyway, I recently acquired a Zildjian 20" medium ride. I could not find any trace of a Zildjian ink logo; the only ink on it was the "MEDIUM RIDE" and sort of a stamp on the back (near the cup) with the size (51 cm... something... 20 inch).

So this is why I thought this cymbal might not be too young, because I think the more recent cymbals always had the Zildjian logo on them.

I have seen many posts asking for the age of some Zildjian cymbal, but I just can't get to put a date on it myself. I readily confess this is not my cup of tea.

So I hope someone is willing and able to help me with dating this cymbal. I've seen lots of pics of stamps, but I just can't seem to figure it out myself :/.

BTW, I apologize if this isn't vintage at all, I really wouldn't know.

Thanks in advance ^^

PS I'm just asking out of curiousity. I like knowing as much as I can about what I have; I do not intend to sell it. Just curious.

They're all 1960's.

They're all 1960's.

Thanks! That's really nice to know. I didn't even expect it to be (that) old when I picked it up.

I was just about to add that the stamp measures just under 1 and 1/4 inch in height. Oh well...

Thanks again ^^

(It's actually 5 pics of the same stamp/cymbal, sorry... I found it hard to get a good pic from the cymbal, so I just posted all my attempts :p)

I am even happier with the ride now :p (I already was, because it sounds nice and I didn't pay much for it imo ;))

Sure am glad that I told you they were all the same then. If I had said otherwise, I would have severely damaged my credibility. It takes a long time to build up street-cred, but you can lose it in a moment with the wrong answer.

With the different lighting they do actually look a bit like they could have come from separate cymbals.
