Okay... These MIJ kits are STALKING ME! Again!

Loading...

Well, here we go again... Wednesday afternoon I was grabbed by the ankle, thrown to the ground and told that if I didn't buy these drums that all my hair would fall out... Okay, that really didn't happen. My wife didn't buy that line either...

A sweet set of blue strata (?) Crest drums and a partial set of Majestic's (the SEMI-PRO thing cracks me up).

I need the tree and mounting plate for the Crest's. Anybody got one? Anyone need the Majestic's? The wrap on the rack tom is dicey. They are a 12 inch 3 ply with rings and a 20 inch 3 ply with rings. The wrap on the BD is fine. I'll post the pictures in subsequent postings.

You can see the split in the wrap on the tom...

Crest Drums

You can see where the tom holder is broken at the base. The third pix is the mounting for the tom. Sizes on this kit is 22, 13, 16. This kit seems to be in pretty fair shape. It will clean up nicely.

Also, I didn't see this badge on the site. If it's needed I'll shoot a better pix and send it.

I could use some parts off the mejestics if you go that route.

Hi Heff, I hate parting out good drums, but will do so if there is no one looking for this wrap. I'm hoping someone out there has an orphan floor tom in this wrap so a kit can be put back together.

What parts are you looking for? PM me if you want.

That Crest is a nice Pearl kit. I have the same wrap. There was someone trying to sell a matching snare (I think it was Crest badged) on ebay a while back. I don't think it sold.

Yeah, the Crest did look kind of 'Pearl-ish' to me as well. Although the lugs are a bit different, but heck... It's a late 60's or early 70's stencil from someone. The wrap is cool, and the kit looks nice. I haven't had time to dive into it yet, but maybe this weekend.

I must be a weird wrap stencil magnet.

I love that wrap. I have quite a few kits but this is the one I gig with most of the time. Also recorded an album with it too. I'd say it dates back to around 70-72 ish.

Oh that is indeed sweet! Heck, you're not using the tom mount. Chainsaw it off and send it to me! Falling Do

I can't tell, is that a Crest as well? The badges look similar but not exact.

I hope this one cleans up that nice. The guitar player I work with mostly (for the last 40 years) is a blue freak. He'll probably make me keep it... like I need another kit.

I actually use the mount and original post now. They are suprisingly robust and and easy to adjust. I'd guess that Mikey will have one for you.

It's a Pearl BTW. I'm sure your's will clean up nice. Mine was a bit of a wreck when I got it but just needed a good cleaning etc. It's not perfect but it's pretty good. Here's a pic of her live.
